Well-being Series: Altruism

Description

Altruism (also know as other-centric) refers to a strong motivation towards increasing another person’s welfare. It is a contrast against egoism (self-centric). Darwin’s “survival of the fittest” postulates self-centredness as an innate quality that we all have to ensure our survivability. However, other-centric individuals that work together as a group triumphs over other competing groups.

Many research studies suggest that living a life for the betterment of others also increases our own well-being. This theme will explore what altruism is and how to cultivate a life for the betterment of others.

Attendance of this webinar is FREE.
This session is part of our on-going Well-being Series organised by Happiness Initiative in partnership with National Youth Council.
P.S. Do note that you have to RSVP for each event individually (click on the event title to be led to the event peatix page!)
